Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital (TVRH) is seeking experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency and ICU teams in Durham.

TVRH provides 24-hour emergency care and specialty referral services in surgery internal medicine cardiology oncology neurology radiology and rehabilitation. Our facilities offer advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities including digital radiography ultrasonography CT MRI endoscopy laparoscopy and in-house laboratory services.
Our team of veterinarians and support staff works together to provide high-quality care to our community 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We value collaboration communication teamwork and creating a positive environment where our team members can continue developing their skills.
As an ER/ICU RVT youll have the opportunity to work with a great deal of autonomy while collaborating closely with our clinicians and support team. Were looking for someone who:

Our ER and ICU RVTs provide hands-on nursing care to emergency patients and hospitalized patients with acute and chronic illnesses. Youll work closely with Emergency Clinicians Veterinary Assistants and Patient Care Assistants to provide comprehensive care throughout each shift.
Responsibilities include:
Triage incoming emergency patients
Assess patient stability and obtain vital signs
Perform diagnostics and treatments for emergency and hospitalized patients
Complete hourly patient assessments and monitoring
Recognize and communicate changes in patient status
Place peripheral and central catheters
Restrain and position patients for examinations and treatments
Participate in nursing rounds
Set up and administer IV and SQ fluids
Maintain urinary catheters
Perform bandage application and removal
Perform suture and drain removal
Calculate injectable medication dosages and CRIs
Administer IV IM SQ oral and ophthalmic medications
Maintain appropriate isolation protocols for infectious patients
Perform basic wound cleaning and care
Administer injectable and inhalant anesthesia
Monitor anesthetized patients and maintain accurate monitoring records
Provide patient monitoring throughout anesthesia recovery
Obtain samples and perform in-house laboratory testing
Assist with CPR and emergency procedures
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Current NC RVT license or eligible for registration in North Carolina
2 years of veterinary assistant or technician experience in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
Specialty emergency or critical care experience preferred
