Job Summary
The Vessel Crew Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of a passenger and vehicle ferry. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who enjoys hands-on work being outdoors working as part of a team and learning new skills.
Typical duties may include:
- Assisting passengers while boarding and exiting the vessel
- Helping crew members load and unload vehicles and freight
- Assisting with line handling under supervision
- Keeping passenger and work areas clean and organized
- Performing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Participating in safety drills and training
- Learning basic vessel safety procedures
- Helping passengers during the voyage
- Communicating with other crew members
- Completing other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Applicants should be dependable safety-conscious willing to learn able to follow instructions and comfortable working as part of a team. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors and around water. No previous maritime experience is required.
Schedule: Part-time approximately 1020 hours per week including some weekends and early mornings.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour.
