The Opportunity:
The Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture (VCEA) supports innovative education research and industry partnerships that prepare students to solve complex real-world challenges. The Personnel Assistant plays a key role within the Deans Office providing administrative support that helps advance college operations development activities personnel processes and special initiatives.
As the Personnel Assistant in the VCEA Deans office you will provide professional-level support to the Director of Administrative Services. You will help ensure the efficient operation of the Deans Office by coordinating projects supporting personnel activities and contributing to initiatives that serve faculty staff students donors and external partners.
In this role you will provide support to the VCEA by coordinating personnel actions recruitment and onboarding activities payroll and timekeeping processes and position management functions. You will serve as a key resource for managers and employees on employment procedures university policies and Workday transactions. Additionally you will ensure the accuracy compliance and integrity of personnel records payroll data position information and employment documentation while supporting workforce planning employee development and organizational objectives.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4004 to $5376 Range 44 (Step A-M) Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years of clerical office or administrative experience OR an Associates degree in business administration public administration or a closely related field may substitute for experience AND one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 2 or two (2) years as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience.
Experience maintaining hardcopy and electronic records/files.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extreme attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
