UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician

Seattle

$40 - $60 per hour

A UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician is required for a critical power service role supporting UPS systems battery solutions and mission-critical electrical infrastructure across an assigned service territory. This role is suited to an experienced technician with hands-on experience maintaining troubleshooting and repairing UPS and related power systems.

The UPS Technician will work on a range of critical power equipment carrying out preventative maintenance diagnostics installations and emergency response activities while delivering safe and professional service to customers.

UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Benefits:

The UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Role:

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections testing troubleshooting and repairs on UPS systems battery plants DC power systems PDUs STS units inverters and related critical power equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics test equipment manufacturer documentation and technical knowledge.
  • Install commission and replace UPS systems battery strings battery monitoring systems maintenance bypass equipment and associated power infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out battery testing capacity testing failure analysis and lifecycle replacement services.
  • Complete service reports maintenance documentation and customer communications accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA NFPA 70E company safety procedures and customer site requirements.

UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Requirements:

  • 3 years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems battery systems DC power equipment generators switchgear data centre infrastructure or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting critical power platforms from manufacturers such as Eaton Vertiv/Liebert Schneider Electric/APC Mitsubishi Toshiba ABB or comparable equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory power distribution systems and battery technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment including multimeters power quality analysers battery testing equipment and related tools.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system faults.
  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel within the assigned service territory including occasional overnight travel.
