Underwriting Assistant

About the Role

New Heights Insurance Solutions a specialty crane rigging and specialized transportation (CRST) insurance division is seeking an organized detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team. This is a fully remote position offering a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their insurance career while working alongside AI-enabled tools and systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters with submission set-up and processing

• Respond to coverage inquiries

• Review and process endorsements

• Support rating functions

• Complete general administrative tasks as requested

• Assist with audits

• Prepare and review premium finance agreements

• Review key underwriting documents including submissions loss runs MVRs CAB reports and DOT reports

• Perform state and federal filing requests

• Calculate surplus lines taxes and fees

• Follow up on outstanding submissions quotes documents and payments

• Other duties as assigned including but not limited to additional job functions as required by the management team

Qualifications

• High school diploma required

• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Willingness to learn and work with AI-powered tools

• Experience with AIM and ImageRight management systems a plus

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Friendly professional demeanor

• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and stay productive in a remote setting

Salary:

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $60000 to $65000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
