Snapshot:

The UKG System Administrator III serves as the senior technical owner of the Companys UKG Pro UKG WFM and Passport platforms which support People Payroll and Time Capture operations across the enterprise. This role acts as the single company-wide point of contact for these systems providing technical leadership governance oversight platform administration vendor management and strategic direction. The position partners closely with HR Payroll Time Capture Infrastructure Cybersecurity and Data Engineering teams to ensure the reliability security and continuous improvement of critical workforce systems while serving as the escalation point and subject matter expert for platform-related issues.

A Day in the Life:

  • Serve as the single company-wide point of contact for UKG and Passport platforms and manage change request intake across all operating regions.
  • Own UKG support ticket resolution from intake through closure including vendor-managed support cases.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships and coordinate issue escalation roadmap reviews release planning and support activities.
  • Lead the UKG upgrade program including release evaluations testing user acceptance testing (UAT) deployment planning cutover activities and post-implementation support.
  • Administer platform configuration and change control processes for system settings deduction codes holiday calendars job titles pay rules and security roles.
  • Design maintain and administer role-based access models and security permissions across UKG platforms.
  • Coordinate and manage user access requests role updates and account terminations.
  • Maintain data ownership documentation across HR Payroll Time Capture and Learning functions.
  • Monitor system performance troubleshoot application issues and identify platform-side integration failures.
  • Partner with Data Engineering Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams to support integrations authentication and enterprise data flows.
  • Define compile and present system health utilization and performance metrics to business and IT leadership.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and partner with stakeholders to align enhancement requests with UKG product roadmaps.
  • Gather reporting requirements develop platform-native reports and collaborate with Application Development teams on enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Train end users and Functional System Administrators on UKG functionality reporting and system processes.
  • Chair cross-functional UKG governance meetings and drive resolution of competing business requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and business stakeholders on initiatives that impact UKG or Passport systems.
  • Support authentication and single sign-on (SSO) initiatives in partnership with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams.
  • Mentor UKG System Administrator I and II team members and provide senior-level technical guidance.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex platform configuration and governance issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5-8 years of experience administering enterprise HRIS payroll or workforce management SaaS platforms such as UKG Pro UKG Ready/WFM Workday ADP Ceridian or similar solutions.
  • Experience leading at least one full enterprise implementation and one major platform upgrade cycle.
  • Deep understanding of HR Payroll and Time Capture business processes including multi-state payroll union environments and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Experience managing software vendor relationships support escalations roadmap reviews and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated success leading platform upgrade programs testing strategies user acceptance testing training deployment and post-go-live support.
  • Experience designing and administering role-based access control models and user security frameworks.
  • Ability to gather business requirements develop reports and support enterprise reporting initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of SSO/SAML authentication models and identity management platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll data privacy requirements including PII handling compliance controls and audit support.
  • Experience supporting file-based and API-based integrations including SFTP and ERP data exchange processes.
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems Human Resources Business or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong facilitation presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments and business functions.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising significant judgment and decision-making authority.
  • UKG Pro or UKG Ready System Administrator certification preferred.
  • HRIP or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Experience leading governance committees steering groups or enterprise platform councils preferred.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff and serving as a senior escalation resource preferred.
