As a TVI Assistant at Catholic Charities Maines Educational Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired Children youll make meaningful connections with students in the classroom with support and guidance from a Teacher of Blind and Visually Impaired Children (TVI).

The TVI Assistant is an Ed Techwhoprovidesin-person instructional and program supportto children (ages 022) who are blind or visually impaired.

As a TVI youll implement educational programming that supports student access and independence in the least restrictive includesinstructional activities designed by the TVI in areas such as Brailleprep assistive technology independent living skills and social development.

This position isprimarily field-based/in-person with responsibilities carried out in homes schools or community settings while collaborating with a remotely based TVI.

Qualifications:

• Bachelorsdegree required(education special education rehabilitation services or related field preferred not required).
• Experience working with children particularly those with disabilities preferred.
• Desire to enroll in the online TVI Prep program at UMass Boston while working in this position. (Tuition is fully funded!)
• Experience supporting students with visual impairments Braille or assistive technology is a plus.
• Experience working in educational or home-based service settings preferred.
• Regular travel between service locations is required. Employees must maintaina valid drivers license and clean driving record.
