Job Summary
LL Pelling is looking for local Class A or B CDL truck drivers to haul asphalt and rock with a manual transmission dump truck. This is a seasonal position that typically works from April to November each year. Drivers may work days or nights depending on the project and more than 50 hours each week.
Responsibilities
- Drive a manual transmission dump truck or mini-flow into construction job sites rock quarries and asphalt plants.
- Load and unload materials which may include asphalt rock and millings.
- Tarp loads using a hand crank.
- Scrape and clean the end of the box from asphalt after every load.
- Keep truck in clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications and Skills
- Class A or B commercial drivers license with insurable driving record
- Airbrake endorsement
- Current medical card
- Can drive a manual transmission truck
- Regular dependable attendance
- Able to work in all outside weather conditions
- Able to work overtime: 50 hours per week
- Able to work overnight shift and weekends as necessary
- Able to frequently climb in and out of truck using 3 points of contact to tarp loads and manually clean box
- Able to use hands to safely operate a dump truck hand crank and hand tools
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
