TRIO Student Support Services Tutor Coordinator

Job Summary
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a TRIO Student Support Services Tutor Coordinator to oversee the tutoring component of the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services Program. The program serves approximately 400 first-generation and low-income college students as well as students with disabilities at UW-Platteville.
The Tutor Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the programs tutoring services including hiring training supervising and scheduling tutors to support student success. This is a full-time benefit-eligible academic-year (9-month) position that typically works August through May with summers off. This is a grant-funded four-year position with funding through May 2030. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of future grant funding. The salary is $45000 per academic year.
- Provides general oversight of the programs tutoring component.
- Hires trains supervises and evaluates the programs tutors.
- Schedules all tutoring sessions reviews tutors lesson plans mid-term and final evaluations and coordinates related program logistics and resources.
- Oversees and approves all tutee payroll.
- Maintains respective forms and related record keeping.
- Assists the director in the collection of required statistics including preparing and analyzing program data and outcomes and assisting with required reports and program assessment activities.
- Provides excellent customer service for student participants tutors and campus colleagues and serves as a resource regarding program services processes and student support resources.
- Provides staffing and oversight for the STEM and Math Help Rooms.
- Assists in the development and implementation of workshops in the areas of financial literacy course selection graduate school advising and financial aid.
- Develops edits and maintains program communications informational materials and other content to support student outreach and program initiatives.
- Participates in occasional program activities that may require night/weekend hours.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in education or a closely related field.
A minimum of two years of experience providing academic assistance in a course content area or study skills academic coaching or advising.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills an ability to multitask and provide attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand and interpret university and federal grant policies and regulations.
Computer skills pertaining to database management form development and standard office software.
Experience working with diverse students including first-generation college students students from low-income backgrounds and students with disabilities.
