Transportation Construction Manager Resident Engineer

• Responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion reviewing the project schedule deliverables and estimate costs in-depth;
• Assigning and coordination of field inspection staff;
• Oversees all onsite and offsite construction activities and monitor compliance with the Contract specifications;
• Resolve any issues that arise from unforeseen conditions;
• Responsible for ensuring that project documentation is completed and submitted as required and completes necessary project close-out;
• Interpretation of drawings and documents and preparation of work order documents;
• Follows project safety protocol;
• All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.

• Candidates must possess at least one of the following AND a High School Diploma/equivalent:
  • 10 years of PennDOT inspection or related highway construction experience:
    • Professional Engineer License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; or
    • NICET Level IV in Highway Construction; or
    • PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification; and
    • NECEPT Field Technician Certification; and
    • NICET Level III Certification; or
    • Any other acceptable combination of qualifications meeting client requirements.
• Proficient understanding and ability to interpret written specifications plans and construction documents;
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients supervisors and inspectors;
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills;
• Ability to complete required safety training within a reasonable period of time;
• A valid clean drivers license and personal vehicle to travel to project sites.

• Assume a stationary position;
• Handle inspect and/or feel documents materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
• Communicate with colleagues supervisors and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
• Move around on the job-site including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment usually for prolonged periods of time
• Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections
• Good visual skills including focused depth perception and
• Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle or use of public transportation which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
