Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration providing climate-control solutions to customers in more than 70 countries. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain and Tifton Georgia produce evaporators condensers compressor racks and other top-quality refrigeration products for their five market-leading brands: Bohn Larkin Climate Control Chandler and InterLink. Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets convenience stores restaurants warehouses and distribution centers in addition to other applications such as data centers pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.
Location: Stone Mountain-100% Onsite
The Transportation Analyst I evaluates and designs transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in research and analysis of freight costs and classifications delivery methods and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintain databases of freight costs transportation networks and carrier information.
- Assist in negotiating transportation rates in accordance with company guidelines and standards as needed.
- Assist in the analysis of transportation costs equipment availability and service levels.
- Conduct cost studies to evaluate transportation alternatives and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Support the preparation of monthly carrier performance and transportation reports.
- Assist with month-end freight reporting and reconciliation activities.
- Review and audit freight invoices for accuracy identifying discrepancies and assisting with issue resolution.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize analyze and report transportation data.
- May assist in coordinating foreign merchandise production quota customs documentation and transportation.
- May work with customs officials to help resolve delays and obtain release of incoming freight.
- Requires a bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air rail sea or road including the relative costs and benefits of each mode.
- Basic understanding of transportation and logistics concepts.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the ability to create spreadsheets use formulas sort and analyze data and generate reports. Experience with PivotTables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and basic data analysis is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to learn transportation reporting freight auditing and carrier performance measurement processes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation:This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $48000-$63000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Companys applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
