Position Summary
The Trade Compliance Manager plays a key role in supporting export and import compliance across multiple U.S.-based business units within Teledyne Qioptiq Electronic Solutions. This position serves as a trusted advisor to internal teams helping ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations while enabling global business operations.
Working closely with business stakeholders and the corporate office this role blends hands-on execution with strategic guidance as an individual contributor. You will review export activities advise on regulatory requirements and help drive consistent compliant processes across the organization in a highly regulated environment. This position does not have any direct reports.
Primary Duties:
Act as a key driver for the sites ITAR and EAR licensing needs and coordinate with licensing subject matter experts to review and issue licenses and handle post-licensing requirements
Perform transactional due diligence including denied party screening on international shipments orders and technical data transfers to ensure compliance with ITAR EAR and OFAC regulations and guide compliant movement of products technology and information.
Oversee product export classification and record keeping process.
Assist the business with additional trade compliance tasks including but not limited to foreign travel requests trade show participation contract reviews and visitor management.
Develop or enhance existing policies and procedures to support the trade compliance function.
Train key stakeholders in the business on various topics within trade compliance including but not limited to the JC process denied party screening Electronic Export Information filing.
Support internal and external audits including tracking and helping drive closure of corrective actions.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Business Supply Chain Logistics) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-6 years of experience in export/trade compliance.
Hands-on experience applying ITAR and/or EAR regulations.
Some experience with export licensing processes (DDTC and/or BIS).
Familiarity with the defense industry and how trade compliance applies to this industry.
Strong ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical guidance to the business.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
Periodic travel required between U.S. sites throughout the year.
SAP experience is beneficial.
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen U.S. national legal permanent resident asylee refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
