Job Summary
Apex is seeking a Title Manager to manage a team of several Title Analysts and to support the development financing and construction of Apexs advanced stage renewable-energy projects.
The Title Manager will be responsible for managing the Land Departments Title Team and the Title Teams performance of the following primary work streams: ordering reviewing and processing title commitments performing title curative work reviewing ALTA surveys obtaining title insurance policies and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project financings. Preference will be given to candidates with past title abstracting and commercial underwriting experience experience closing large scale commercial transactions (renewable energy transactions strongly preferred) and prior supervisory experience.
Primary Responsibilities
The Title Manager will be responsible for performing and/or managing others to perform the following work streams:
- Supervise the Title Analysts on the Land Departments Title Team and train new team members when necessary.
- Order review and process title insurance commitments draft and record title curative documents and review ALTA surveys.
- Solicit and review quotes from title companies and other third parties for title commitments mineral searches title policies and related services.
- Edit title proformas prepare legal exhibits and draft other documents related to project financing.
- Track status of title work and report to internal and external stakeholders the necessary information required to obtain title insurance policies for project financing.
- Research deeds analyze county tax parcel and GIS data and maintain data related to title documents and other agreements in the land database.
- Provide support to the broader Land Department and real estate attorneys on a variety of real estate related tasks.
Qualifications :
To succeed as our Title Manager at Apex Clean Energy youll need to display excellence within the following criteria:
- Bachelors degree or higher in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of title abstracting and/or underwriting experience (commercial underwriting experience strongly preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of people leadership experience strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and projects
- Willingness to train others and develop systems to improve efficiency of the Title Team
- Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Must be highly accountable for self Title Team members and meeting team goals
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience using GIS and other mapping tools.
- Ability to project a positive image of the company and cultivate and maintain positive relationships
- Able to work from our headquarters in Charlottesville VA

Work Environment:
Works primarily traditional office hours in an indoor office environment. Flexible work hours allowed when work duties and business operations permit.
