Tier 2 Systems Administrator

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tier 2 System Administrator to join our growing IT this role you will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support and be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission critical IT systems supporting end users and ensuring the security and performance of our infrastructure. This position is ideal for a tech-savvy professional with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

Provide advanced technical support for hardware software database custom software and network-related issues escalated from Tier 1.

Administer and maintain servers (Windows Linux Solaris) desktops and applications printers and peripheral equipment Active Directory and virtual environments (VMware).

Perform system health checks monitor system performance and ensure backups are running for restoration capability.

Assist in onboarding/offboarding of users including account setup and access controls.

Document technical issues solutions and processes in ticketing systems and knowledge bases.

Qualifications:

Required:

Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly

Must have at least an IAT Level II Certification: Such as Security

Must be willing to participate in weekly day support hours rotationand an after-hours on-call support rotation

24 years of hands-on experience in a system or IT support role

Strong knowledge and experience with command line in a Unix Environment Windows Server Windows desktop Active Directory DNS and Group Policy

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware)

Proficiency in troubleshooting custom software network connectivity and performance issues

Strong understanding of security best practices and data protection

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired:

Scripting knowledge (PowerShell Python Bash etc.)

Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow HelpNow Jira Confluence)

Exposure to ITIL practices or formal change management best practices

Prior experience supporting real-time operations/Mission Critical infrastructure

Familiarity with CISCO switches and firewalls

Familiarity and experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (SCOM preferred)
