Job Summary
PGS Worldwide is seeking Secret-Cleared Thermo-Structural Analysis Engineers in Palm Beach Gardens Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will perform thermal structural and coupled thermo-structural analysis supporting advanced aerospace and propulsion systems. Engineers will develop simulation models evaluate materials and test data investigate failures and provide analytical recommendations supporting product design and development.
Required Skills
- Active DoD Secret clearance required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience performing structural thermal and/or thermo-structural analysis.
- Experience developing finite element analysis models and simulations.
- Experience with ANSYS Mechanical and/or comparable FEA tools.
- Experience developing models meshes/grids boundary conditions constraints and material-property inputs.
- Experience interpreting analytical results and providing engineering recommendations.
- Experience preparing technical reports and presenting analytical results.
- Experience evaluating test hardware and test data.
- Experience developing or applying material models for structural or thermal analysis.
- Experience supporting failure investigations through analytical methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
- Strong critical-thinking analytical and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and technical customers.
Senior-Level Track
- Extensive thermo-structural analysis experience supporting complex aerospace or propulsion systems.
- Thermal analytical simulation experience involving air-breathing engines.
- Ability to provide advanced structural mechanics and materials-analysis recommendations.
- Experience developing and improving analytical methodologies and multidisciplinary analysis strategies.
Preferred Skills
- Thermal and structural analysis experience involving air-breathing propulsion systems.
- Rocket motor analysis experience.
- ANSYS Mechanical ANSYS APDL and/or ANSYS Classic experience.
- Experience analyzing metallic and composite materials.
- Knowledge of nonlinear material behavior and implementation within FEA.
- Experience with high-cycle and low-cycle fatigue analysis.
- Damage-tolerance analysis experience using NASGRO or equivalent tools.
- Experience developing material test plans and selecting appropriate test methods.
- Experience with design-of-experiments testing.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to present analytical results to internal and external customers.
What Youll Do
- Develop thermal structural and coupled thermo-structural analysis models.
- Select appropriate modeling approaches meshes boundary conditions constraints and material properties.
- Perform finite element and engineering simulations supporting aerospace and propulsion-system design.
- Analyze simulation results and recommend design improvements.
- Provide structural mechanics and materials recommendations to integrated engineering teams.
- Develop and refine analytical methodologies.
- Assess test hardware and test results.
- Develop material models supporting thermal and structural analyses.
- Assist with material test planning test-method selection and test-data evaluation.
- Support failure investigations through fault-tree development and analytical evaluation of potential causes.
- Support design-of-experiments activities used to obtain data for detailed analyses.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
- Organize and maintain engineering data models and design documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customer technical representatives.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9/80 work schedule.
- Full-time onsite in Palm Beach Gardens Florida.
Pay
- Mid-Level Job ID 1938: 210 years of experience $65.54 per hour.
- Senior-Level Job ID 1937: 10 years of experience $85.49 per hour.
