The Core Engineering

The Core Engineering builds and operates the platforms applications data solutions models and analytics that power critical processes for The Core divisions of the firm (e.g. Risk responsible for the risk profile of firm activities; Controllers responsible for the financial control and reporting obligations; Compliance responsible for the firms compliance regulatory and reputational risks; Corporate Treasury responsible for the firms liquidity funding balance sheet etc.; and Human Capital Management responsible for attracting developing and managing a global workforce). A centralized engineering structure in support of The Core enables a common platform model and operating framework that promotes consistent governance and scalable solutions leveraging cloud AI and machine learning for innovation and efficiency. The Core Engineerings 2000 engineers and strats deliver engineering data analytics and quantitative capabilities within six business units:

• Metrics & Analytics Platforms: responsible for the measurement and management of the firms risk capital and liquidity for The Core functions

• The Core Strats: responsible for the development and implementation of models and other quantitative methodologies including the accuracy and attribution of modeled metrics

• Financials & Reporting: responsible for facilitating the production of the firms financials and a wide range of reporting functions

• Non-Financial Risk & Controls: responsible for non-financial risk and control processes

• Enterprise Platforms: responsible for platforms and applications that support critical operational processes across The Core such as payments people processes and procurement

• Shared Services: responsible for driving the adoption of consistent engineering strategy including data platforms cloud and AI enablement as well as the management of technology risk

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

As a Software Developeron our team you will:

• Design develop and maintainfull-stack applications across the entire software lifecycle from requirements gathering and architecture through implementation testing and deployment
• Build responsive intuitive experiencesand robust back-end services that power financial planning expense management and risk platforms
• Leverage AI tools and techniques(e.g. code-generation assistants LLM-powered automation prompt engineering Spec-Driven Development) to accelerate development improve code quality and enhance platform capabilities
  • Architect and deliver multiagent AI Systems using A2A protocol including orchestrator and subagent topologies
  • Build and maintain knowledge graph and RAG systems to enable document and data retrieval querying and searching
  • Establish robust governance frameworks including logging explainability and auditability to ensure AI quality and reliability
  • Establish and document agentic software development best practices
• Collaborate globallywith sponsors users and engineering colleagues across multiple divisions to create end-to-end solutions that meet complex business requirements
• Participate in code reviewsto ensure quality maintainability and adherence to engineering best practices
• Take technical ownershipof features and components managing multiple stakeholders and driving delivery within a global team
• Stay currentwith the latest advancements in AI/ML platforms tools and software engineering practices to continuously improve our solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Computer Engineering or a similar field of study.
• 3 years of proficiency in Java(preferred) or another major programming language (Python) with readiness to upskill where necessary
• Full-stack development experience- comfortable building both front-end (e.g. React JavaScript/TypeScript) and back-end (e.g. Java Spring Framework APIs) components
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- experience with algorithms data structures and software design
• Excellent programming skills - developing debugging testing and optimizing code
• Proficiency in utilizing AI toolsfor software development (e.g. AI-assisted coding code review tools LLM-based productivity tools)
• Foundational understanding of AI and agentic systems- familiarity with concepts such as large language models prompt engineering retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) etc.
• Knowledge ofcloud-native solutionsin AWS
• Comfortable with technical ownership managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a global team

Preferred - Experience That Can Set You Apart

• Experience withdistributed databasesand/or Elasticsearch
• Experience withopen-source messaging systemslike Kafka
• Systems experience inUNIX/Linux especially in scaling for performance and debugging complex distributed systems
• Experience withAPI design- creating interconnected services message buses or real-time processing systems
• Exposure toGenAI techniquesincluding RAG pipelines model fine-tuning agentic frameworks (e.g. LangChain AutoGen) or embedding models and vector databases
• Familiarity withMLOps practicesincluding CI/CD for ML model deployment and monitoring
• Knowledge of thefinancial industry- corporate planning expense management or risk functions
