Job Description

The Testing Supervisor serves as a full-time proctor in the Texas A&M University San Antonio Testing Center. Under general supervision this position administers and proctors a variety of academic placement certification and correspondence examinations while ensuring testing security compliance with testing policies and exceptional customer service for students faculty staff and community members. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.


Salary: $18.84/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and proctor paper-based and computer-based examinations in accordance with university and testing vendor policies.

  • Verify examinee identity and ensure compliance with testing security procedures.

  • Monitor testing sessions to maintain exam integrity and document testing irregularities.

  • Explain testing procedures policies and identification requirements to students and community members.

  • Assist students faculty and external testing candidates with scheduling appointments and answering questions.

  • Prepare testing rooms computers testing materials and equipment before each testing session.

  • Maintain secure storage and handling of testing materials and confidential student information.

  • Process testing registrations collect applicable fees and maintain accurate testing records.

  • Assist with the administration of testing software such as RegisterBlast and vendor testing platforms.

  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a fair and consistent testing environment.

  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures of the Testing Center.

  • Help maintain testing supplies equipment and inventory.

  • Cross-train with other Testing Center staff to ensure continuity of services.

  • Assist with special testing events evening testing and weekend testing as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • Some experience in teaching training counseling or testing.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience providing customer service or working in an educational environment.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of standardized testing principles testing security protocols and industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of testing software and computer-based testing platforms (e.g. Pearson VUE ETS College Board ACCUPLACER or similar systems).

  • Knowledge of FERPA ADA and applicable testing accommodations and accessibility requirements.

  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply testing policies and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the security of testing materials and student records.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks adapt to changing demands and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing with students faculty staff and external testing vendors.

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service while enforcing testing policies fairly and consistently.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently while exercising initiative and sound decisionmaking.
