Test Engineer

Canvas is seeking a Test Engineer to support test and evaluation activities for Project Office customers. This announcement may be used to fill multiple positions.

Description

• Responsible for designing and executing Qualification test plans to validate the functionality and quality of complex Army missile systems
• Lead and support component subsystem and system-level qualification testing; test types may include Environmental EMI/EMC Safety Human Factors. Includes on-site TDY testing support completing training to operate weapon system equipment at test facility and performing Unit Under Test functional checks.
• Ensure execution of test schedule by collaborating with test facility staff and daily status reporting to leadership.
• Evaluate systems to ensure they meet military standards (MIL-STD-810 MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464)
• Identify potential weapon system issues and defects by performing tests on the systems features
• Report findings to ensure the final product meets specifications working closely with development teams across the product lifecycle
• This position involves physically climbing on top of military vehicles and weapon systems

Required Degree and Experience

• BS or BA degree
• 5 years test and evaluation experiencein Army weapon system qualification testing
• Experience with evaluating systems to ensure they meet military standards (MIL-STD-810 MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464)
• Must be a US citizen
• *Active DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Experience

• Hands on Test and Evaluation experience
• Redstone Test Center (RTC) or other lab experience
