As a Test & Development Engineering Intern with JLG you will work alongside engineers and technicians in a hands-on test and development environment supporting new and existing JLG products. This role provides exposure to the setup instrumentation testing evaluation and troubleshooting of heavy equipment vehicle systems subsystems and components.

You will work directly with Test & Development engineers and technicians to support vehicle and component testing prototype builds test setups data collection and product validation. The ideal candidate enjoys working hands-on with equipment has strong mechanical aptitude and is interested in using engineering principles and test data to evaluate product performance and help solve technical problems.

YOUR IMPACT

• Assist with the setup instrumentation execution and documentation of vehicle subsystem and component testing.
• Work directly with Test & Development engineers and technicians to support prototype vehicles test setups configuration changes repairs and troubleshooting.
• Support validation testing of new product designs as part of new product development and testing to resolve issues on existing products.
• Install and configure test instrumentation sensors data acquisition equipment and other measurement devices used to evaluate vehicle and component performance.
• Collect organize and analyze test data and assist engineers with interpreting results and identifying trends or potential issues.
• Assist with the development of test plans procedures setups and technical documentation based on engineering requirements and specifications.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis to support testing product evaluation and problem resolution.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints specifications schematics and other technical documentation.
• Assist with the assembly modification and configuration of vehicles test stands components and test equipment as needed to support testing.
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigation of mechanical electrical hydraulic and vehicle system issues identified during testing.
• Collaborate with engineering technicians manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to communicate test results and support project objectives.
• Follow applicable engineering procedures test standards safety requirements and specifications while performing testing and development activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student pursuing a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Agricultural Engineering or another related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings schematics blueprints and technical specifications.
• Interest in hands-on vehicle testing product development troubleshooting and working with heavy equipment.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous internship testing laboratory manufacturing automotive heavy equipment or other hands-on technical experience.
• Experience with test instrumentation sensors data acquisition systems or engineering measurement equipment.
• Experience collecting analyzing and interpreting engineering or test data.
• Understanding of mechanical electrical hydraulic and/or vehicle control systems.
• Experience with vehicle or component testing test fixtures test stands or prototype equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using Creo Parametric Pro/E CATIA SolidWorks or a similar CAD system.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment construction equipment automotive agricultural equipment or other vehicle industries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• In the office setting tasks may require extended computer use sitting and attending meetings.

Pay Range:

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
