What will the work look like for me
We are currently seeking a Test and Calibration Documentation Assistant to join our team. The Test and Calibration Manufacturing Process Owner Group (TCMPOG) provides global leadership and process development support for manufacturing test programming calibration configuration and verification systems across Daktronics factories and business units. This position creates maintains and improves technical documentation that supports manufacturing systems calibration processes software deployments training and factory operations. The role works directly with Engineering Quality Operations and Manufacturing teams to convert technical knowledge and deployment activity into clear controlled and usable procedures training materials and troubleshooting resources.
Responsibilities:
- Create maintain and revise manufacturing work instructions deployment procedures test system documentation troubleshooting guides training materials process maps reference documents and known-issue resources.
- Gather information from engineers technicians operators and other subject matter experts and convert technical knowledge into accurate practical documentation for operators technicians and support teams.
- Use photographs screenshots diagrams videos and other visual content to make technical instructions easier to understand and apply.
- Communicate documentation changes and maintain clear revision histories document ownership and controlled records.
- Participate in manufacturing system deployments product launches process rollouts and factory support activities to capture procedures decisions issues and lessons learned.
- Support cross-site operational readiness for new software releases tooling test systems and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with change management version communication deployment follow-up and issue escalation tracking across manufacturing sites.
- Update documentation and training content as deployment and factory feedback identifies gaps or changes.
- Develop operator and technician training materials including visual guides quick-reference materials and video content.
- Lead or support primarily in-office training sessions during deployments and process rollouts.
- Improve onboarding and knowledge-transfer practices to reduce reliance on tribal knowledge and ad hoc support.
- Organize technical information so manufacturing teams can find understand and apply it consistently.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Test Engineering Quality Operations Software Development and other technical teams.
- Participate in process reviews pre-build activities and continuous improvement efforts to identify documentation requirements and support manufacturing readiness.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support customer department and manufacturing needs.

To be considered for Test and Calibration Documentation Assistant we require the following:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preference given to those with completion of or current enrollment in a two-year associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology Industrial Technology Mechanical Engineering Technology Electronics Engineering Technology Technical Communication Quality Technology or a related technical field.
- Equivalent hands-on manufacturing systems or technical documentation experience will also be considered.
- Successfully participate as a member of a team and interact with a variety of personnel in a positive professional manner.
- Write clear accurate and professional technical communication.
- Interpret engineering drawings technical instructions manufacturing documentation and system information.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn Daktronics-specific systems and tools such as SharePoint and Glovia.
- Learn manufacturing systems and processes quickly organize complex information and manage multiple priorities.
- Work independently with minimum supervision and contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Receive feedback make changes and consistently complete quality work within established deadlines.
- Regular and reliable attendance with flexibility to work scheduled overtime or adjusted hours when business needs require it.
- Physical Requirements include:
- The ability to lift and carry heavy (up to 45 pounds) and/or awkward items.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion as required for the position.
- Required to distinguish and identify colors (wires paint etc.) as it pertains to the position.
- Work with some odors (paint solder welding coating etc.) associated with a manufacturing environment.
- Wear all protective equipment as required in work area. Items may include the following: safety glasses safety shoes/boots hearing protection protective garments etc.
- The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal state provincial and local laws
- Fluent in English written and verbal.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired traits:
- Experience in manufacturing technical documentation production support test engineering support or a technical deployment environment.
- Creating work instructions technical procedures troubleshooting guides process maps deployment documentation or operator training materials.
- Maintaining controlled documentation revision records databases factory metrics or known-issue repositories.
- Creating visual training content or instructional video materials.
- Experience supporting global manufacturing operations or working with teams in Asia Europe or Spanish-speaking locations.
- Mandarin or Spanish language capability is a plus.
