The Temporary Student Learning Center Operations Coordinator Opportunity


The temporary Student Learning Center Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Marriott Student Learning Center ensuring an exceptional and student-centered experience for students faculty staff alumni employers and visitors. This highly collaborative role serves as a key partner across the college providing operational leadership for facility management student staffing customer service technology support and event coordination. The successful candidate is an organized customer-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment demonstrates sound judgment builds strong relationships and is committed to continuous improvement and service excellence. This is a full-time four-month term position with the possibility of extension based on funding performance and business needs. About The Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration


The Office of Student Services is the central hub supporting the academic professional and co-curricular experience for all students in the Nolan School. OSS services as a key connection oint between student faculty and staff ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment throughout the student journey.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Marriott Student Learning Center ensuring exceptional service efficient space utilization and a positive user experience.
  • Recruit train schedule and supervise student employees while fostering a culture of professionalism and customer service excellence.
  • Coordinate academic recruiting conference and event space needs in partnership with faculty staff students and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational facility technology and service-related inquiries and escalations.
  • Partner with library IT facilities and event teams to ensure seamless delivery of resources services and technology support.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness service quality and the overall student experience.

What We Need

  • Bachelors degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating programs operations events or facility-related activities.
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supervising training or mentoring student employees.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard business software and technology tools.

  • Experience working in higher education student services event operations or facility management.
  • Experience coordinating facility scheduling or event logistics.
  • Familiarity with technology-enabled learning meeting or event spaces.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) four-month term position based in Ithaca NY with the potential for extension based on funding availability business needs and satisfactory performance. The position is fully on-site and offers an hourly rate of $31.47 to $35.00 commensurate with education and experience. Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. This position is not benefits eligible.
