Schedule Details:$22.00/hour
Seasonal Pool phlebotomy role will work varied hours (mainly early morning hours such as 0500-1000) on various days of the week late October through mid November. Each shift will be about 4-6 hours in length and will be located at several different school locations throughout the Waukesha School District for HRA events. This position will also require 2 Saturday mornings - November 7th and 14th for same school district. Saturday morning hours will be from approximately 0600-1200.
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for specimen procurement handling/processing and transport. This individual is also responsible for the following:
- Efficiently performs venipuncture capillary and arterial collections with minimum discomfort and according to established policies and procedures.
- Establishes positive identification of the patient prior to performing procedures.
- Accurately and completely labels specimens according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
- Provides patient instruction relative to the collection of non-blood specimens.
- Appropriately prioritizes specimen collection requests. Responds to Stat times and routine specimen collection requests in a timely manner as ordered.
- Processes specimens for testing in the laboratory.
- Transport specimens and blood products between sites as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/ GED required
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
- ASCP Phlebotomy Certification preferred
