Job Summary

About Us

Were Queue the worlds first fully autonomous robotic pharmacy. We go from sealed wholesale bottles to filled verified prescription vials with zero human involvement.

We built Queue because no one should ever have to wait in line for the medicines they need. One in three US pharmacies has shut down. Pharmacists are overworked to a breaking point. And patients are paying the price. Queue fixes that. Pharmacists get to practice pharmacy again counseling patients catching interactions doing the work only they can do. And patients get their prescriptions in 60 seconds or less any time anywhere.

Were backed by over $18 million from Alleycorp Riot Ventures Ubiquity Ventures House Capital and others who believe the pharmacy system is broken and that robotics can fix it. Queue was founded by Nick Desai (6x founder previously CEO of Heal) and Joshua Liu (previously Tesla Waymo and Zipline).

About the Role

As Technician Lead youll be the hands-on anchor of our build floor leading a small team of technicians through the assembly integration troubleshooting and testing of complex electromechanical robotic systems. Youll work side by side with design and manufacturing engineers to build prototype and pilot-production units execute test protocols and create the build documentation that carries our product from prototype to production at scale.

What makes this role extraordinary:

Direct impact on millions of patients through breakthrough pharmacy automation. The machines you and your team build will dispense medication to real patients with the opportunity to set the quality bar and build the technician team from the ground up as we scale nationwide.

Lead the Technician Team

  • Lead schedule and mentor a small team of assembly and test technicians; assign daily work and monitor output against build schedules

  • Train technicians on assembly best practices tooling fixtures and quality standards

  • Serve as first point of contact for issues that arise during builds escalating to engineering with clear data-backed reports

  • Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked lab and build area

  • Be a champion of company safety practices

Mechanical & Electromechanical Assembly

  • Assemble precision mechanical and electromechanical subassemblies mechanisms actuators wire harnesses and sensor packages to pharmaceutical-grade quality standards

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings 3D CAD schematics wiring diagrams BOMs and tolerances to execute builds accurately

  • Use hand tools torque tools presses custom fixtures and semi-automated equipment for repeatable high-quality assembly

  • Build and modify electrical PCB assemblies with the ability to rework surface-mount and through-hole components

  • Use benchtop equipment like power supplies oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to follow basic electrical work instructions for PCBA bring-up and test

  • Inspect incoming parts for defects and confirm part availability ahead of builds

Troubleshooting & Test Execution

  • Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and electromechanical issues during assembly and bring-up; partner with engineers to root-cause and resolve them

  • Execute test plans and validation protocols on subassemblies and full systems; adapt procedures where specifications are still being defined

  • Build and maintain assembly jigs test fixtures and validation setups

  • Record analyze and communicate test results; provide detailed written and verbal status updates to engineering and leadership

Build Documentation & Process

  • Create red-line and maintain assembly work instructions SOPs travelers and test procedures

  • Document issues deviations and improvements discovered during builds and feed them back into design and process

  • Support the transition from prototype builds to repeatable pilot production including DFx feedback to engineering

  • Help establish quality checkpoints and build-record discipline as we scale toward volume production

Required Qualifications and Experiences

We dont care about your degrees. We care about what you can show us! Tell us about the machines youve built.

  • Hands-On Builder: 8 years of hands-on experience assembling and testing mechanical/electromechanical systems (robotics semiconductor equipment medical devices automotive aerospace or similar)

  • Team Leadership: Prior experience leading a small team of technicians assigning work training and owning build quality and schedule

  • Assembly Expertise: Demonstrated competency in precision mechanical and electromechanical assembly including tight-tolerance mechanisms and wire harnessing

  • Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical domains; comfortable with multimeters torque tools and test equipment

  • Test Execution: Experience executing structured test plans and documenting results

  • Documentation: Proven ability to write and maintain clear build documentation work instructions SOPs and test procedures

  • Drawings & CAD: Ability to read engineering drawings GD&T callouts schematics and 3D CAD

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in prototype-to-production environments (NPI pilot lines low-volume builds)

  • IPC-A-610/620 certification or equivalent soldering and harness assembly training

  • Basic fabrication/machining and 3D printing experience for tooling and fixtures

  • Experience in regulated or cleanroom environments (medical pharma semiconductor)
