Mechanical Technical Specialist
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Schedule: 12-hour shifts on a 2/3/3/2 pattern
Shift: Must be available to work either days or nights
Weekend Work: Every other weekend as part of the 2/3/3/2 schedule
Shift Rotation: Employees are typically assigned to either day or night shift and remain on that shift. However flexibility to work either shift may be required based on business needs including vacation or medical leave coverage.

We are seeking aMechanical Technical Specialist to provide technical troubleshooting and maintenance support in an industrial manufacturing environment.
The Mechanical Technical Specialist will troubleshoot equipment issues to restore product flow provide technical leadership and training to craft employees and develop solutions to recurring design process and application problems.
This position will analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement assist with outage planning follow up on equipment issues and support small capital projects major repairs and maintenance projects. The role will also provide technical support to process engineering and manufacturing teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow all environmental health and safety quality continuous improvement and company policies.
- Provide direct technical support to the maintenance organization.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and craft employees.
- Serve as a technical resource and provide guidance to manufacturing personnel.
- Respond to equipment and maintenance trouble calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Assist with the design and improvement of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Assist in overseeing and executing downtime work associated with both small and large-scale projects.
- Assist with the evaluation and justification of new equipment.
- Help ensure equipment rebuilds and spare components are sent for repair or ordered as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives involving manufacturing methods and processes.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools and principles to improve work processes and efficiency.
- Actively participate in structured problem-solving initiatives including 5C and 8-Step Problem Solving methodologies.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing departments to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with outage planning and maintenance projects.
- Follow up on equipment issues and help develop long-term technical solutions.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Requirements
- Frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support is required.
- Travel may be required up to approximately10%.
- Flexibility to provide maintenance and technical support outside of regular scheduled hours is expected.
