Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have an opportunity to do the following:

• Write rewrite and/or edit material for reports manuals briefs proposals instruction books catalogs and related technical and administrative publications.
• Impart a wide range of knowledge of principles theories and concepts in technical fields and related disciplines gained through wide exposure to weapons systems operations and/or test and evaluation processes and procedures.
• Confer with authors and subject matter experts to recommend edits to technical documentation to include review of content for completeness accuracy and correctness of language use.
• Verify facts dates and statistics using standard reference sources.

• Active SECRET clearance.
• Must be able to work under general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to technical documentation production.
• BS/BA and 5-7 years of related experience.
• Previous technical writing experience supporting NSWC DET WS or other NSWC Detachments is highly desired.
