Job Summary
The Technical Writer conducts engineering support activities as are required to support the development and maintenance of company product literature and other documentation. Technical writers provide support and work with product designers and customer care representatives to provide accurate and clear instruction.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain customer product documentation including:
- Operators Manuals
- Maintenance Manuels
- Serial Number Tracking Documentation
- Spare Parts List
- Work with multiple departments to establish style and content
- Provide engineering support to any relevant stakeholder
- Consistently implement technical writing standards and documentation of best practices and experiential learning
- Practice safe work procedures at all times
- Contuct additional tasks as requested
Education & Experience
- Completion of secondary school required
- Completion of a college/ university program in a related field
Specific Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team environment
- Strong work ethic
- Computer literacy in Adobe Suite (Illustrator InDesign Photoshop Acrobat Pro) Microsoft Office and familiarity with 3D software (SolidWorks Composer) PDM Syspro a bonus
- Strong visual / graphic intuition
- Time management skills
- Proficiency in technical communication
- Project and resource management
- Able to work independently
- Detail oriented
