Job Summary
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of customer programs involving embedded automotive and stationary control units. This role serves as the primary interface between the customer and Bosch engineering teams and is accountable for achieving project targets related to Quality Cost Delivery Scope and Customer Satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering software hardware mechanical engineering validation quality manufacturing purchasing and production while collaborating with globally distributed teams across North America Germany India China and other Bosch development locations.
The position requires strong technical knowledge business acumen stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity in fast-paced development environments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Customer and Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary technical and project interface for customer engineering organizations.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead technical discussions project reviews escalation meetings and executive steering committees.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from engineering teams to Director and Vice President level leadership.
- Coordinate customer requirements change requests issue resolution activities and release planning.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.
Project Leadership
- Lead global cross-functional project teams in compliance with organizational development processes.
- Drive project execution from project initiation through SOP and project closure.
- Develop and maintain project plans schedules budgets resource plans and risk management strategies.
- Monitor and control project performance against defined milestones and deliverables.
- Establish recovery plans and corrective actions when targets are at risk.
- Manage project escalations and facilitate timely decision-making.
Quality Cost Delivery (QCD) Ownership
- Track program financials engineering budgets development costs and investment requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
- Support quotation activities feasibility assessments and customer RFQ/RFI responses.
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated into future projects.
Systems Engineering and Product Development
- Coordinate complete product development activities involving System Engineering Hardware Development Software Development Integration and Validation and Production Readiness.
- Manage requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Facilitate architecture reviews design reviews and technical readiness assessments.
- Drive alignment between customer requirements and internal engineering teams.
- Support engineering release management activities and change management processes.
Launch and Production Support
- Coordinate PPAP activities and production readiness reviews.
- Support manufacturing launch and industrialization activities.
- Lead issue resolution during pilot production and launch phases.
- Ensure successful product introduction into serial production.
- Monitor field quality performance and drive corrective actions when required.
Global Team Collaboration
- Lead multicultural engineering teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Foster collaboration innovation transparency and accountability.
- Create an environment that promotes teamwork continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science Mechatronics or related engineering field. Masters Degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in automotive off-highway industrial or embedded systems development.
- 5 years of technical project management experience leading global engineering projects.
- Proven experience managing complete product development life cycles from concept through SOP.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP IPMA or equivalent Project Management Certification.
- Experience working directly with North American OEMs and Commercial Vehicle manufacturers.
- Experience with battery-electric fuel-cell and hydrogen-based propulsion systems.
- Experience managing globally distributed development teams.
- Exposure to stationary energy storage systems and industrial power applications.
