Job Summary

Energy Fuels Inc. is a Denver-based global critical mineral company poised to supply 10 of the 50 minerals essential for current and emerging technologies. Energy Fuels is the largest U.S. uranium provider supplying nuclear energy utilities with material for the zero-emissions nuclear fuel cycle and operating White Mesa Mill the nations only conventional uranium mill. We also produce rare earth oxides for permanent magnets used in electric mobility wind energy drones robotics and defense applications. Position Summary

The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for researching documenting and implementing accounting policies and positions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. This role supports complex accounting areas including business combinations revenue recognition leases debt and other technical matters. The position partners closely with finance leadership external auditors and other departments to provide clear guidance and make informed decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Research and analyze complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP (e.g. ASCand 842 etc.).
  • Monitor new FASB accounting pronouncements and SEC regulations assess business impact and lead implementation planning stakeholder alignment and training as needed.
  • Lead the preparation review and oversight of technical accounting memorandums documenting the companys application of U.S. GAAP; perform and guide technical accounting research on complex transactions.
  • Support accounting due diligence purchase accounting analyses business combinations asset acquisitions and post-acquisition integration accounting.
  • Assist in technical accounting conclusions supporting periodic SEC filings registration statements pro forma financial information and other reporting obligations.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to interpret contract terms and business arrangements and ensure the appropriate application of GAAP.
  • Develop maintain and update corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison with external auditors on technical accounting matters and accounting policy positions.
  • Support SOX compliance drafting and documenting internal controls and SOX processes.
  • Assist Corporate Controller with special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting.
  • CPA
  • 6 years of accounting experience including public accounting and/or public company technical accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and Regulation S-X.
  • Experience working with auditors or in a public company environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting (Big 4 or similar).
  • Masters degree in accounting.
  • Experience in mining energy manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Experience with Workday (ERP).
  • Experience with Workiva.
  • Experience with IFRS.
  • International experience.

The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on experience qualifications and/or education. The salary offer will not be based on a candidates salary history by law Energy Fuels will not ask for information about salary history nor should candidates share that information with the company.


This role may be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program and long-term incentive program pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the companys performance and their own individual performance.

This position is based out of Energy Fuels Lakewood location and is expected to be in the office most of the week. We offer a 9/80 schedule along with a remote work Tuesday for most of our exempt positions. The successful candidate will work out the details of their schedule with their manager.
