Tax Senior Hybrid Public Accounting Firm

Location: Onondaga County NY
Job Type: Full-time

A well-established public accounting firm in Onondaga County is adding a Tax Senior to its team. This is a client-facing position for someone who enjoys more than just preparing returns and wants to be involved in planning research client relationships and the overall engagement process.

The firm offers a collaborative environment with flexibility strong client exposure and room to continue developing professionally.

What you do:

Prepare and review individual partnership and corporate tax returns

Work directly with clients on tax compliance planning and advisory matters

Research tax questions and help develop practical solutions for clients

Take ownership of multiple engagements and keep projects moving toward deadlines

Assist Managers and Partners with tax planning and engagement strategy

Develop and maintain long-term client relationships

Review staff work and provide coaching and guidance to less-experienced team members

Stay current on changes in tax regulations and their impact on clients

What you need:

3 years of public accounting tax experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field

CPA or EA preferred; candidates actively pursuing either are also encouraged to apply

Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance and planning

Experience working with tax software such as CCH ProSystem fx or UltraTax

Strong communication and organizational skills

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working independently
