Job Summary
SYSTEMTECis seeking a Systems Programmer III DB2 for a remote opportunity working EST hours. Candidate will supporttheadministration performance availability and reliability ofenterprise IBM DB2for z/OSenvironments. The rolewill work closelywith database application and infrastructure teamsto maintain mission-critical systems resolveproduction issues andimplement upgrades andsystem improvements.
Required Qualifications of the Systems Programmer III DB2:
- Applicants must beauthorized to workfor any employerin the U.S. We areunable to providesponsorship or workwithThird-Party agencies.
- 4 years ofIT experience includingvaried programming orsystems-related experience.
- Bachelors degree inComputer Science InformationSystems or arelated fieldor an equivalentcombination of educationand relevant experience.
- Hands-on experiencewith IBM mainframetechnologies includingDB2 and z/OS.
- Experience with SYSVIEW Broadcom products orother IBM/mainframe-related technologies.
- Strong analytical logical thinking troubleshooting and problem-solvingskills.
- Knowledge of databasemanagementdata storage concepts and advanced programmingtechniques.
- Understanding of productionsystem maintenance andthepotential impact ofsoftware or infrastructurechanges.
- Experience with systemssoftware quality assurance testingimplementation and change-management practices.
- Ability to evaluatetechnical specificationsfor completeness andcompatibility and learnnew programming languages utilitiesand tools.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Systems Programmer III DB2:
Experience supporting enterpriseDB2 for z/OS environments includingsubsystem administration performance tuning upgradesand migrations disasterrecovery productiontroubleshooting and datamovement between environments.
Responsibilities of the Systems Programmer III DB2:
- Install configure maintain and administerIBM DB2 forz/OS subsystemsin an enterprisemainframe environment.
- Monitorand tune DB2performance to improvesystem availability stability and resource utilization.
- Planand execute DB2maintenance upgradesmigrations and relatedsystems changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolvecomplex production incidentswhilesupporting critical businessapplications.
- Support disaster recoveryactivities and facilitatedata movement acrossdevelopment testing and productionenvironments.
- Participate in arotating 24x7 on-call scheduleand collaborate withdatabase administratorsand technical teamson system improvements.
Work Location: Remote. EST Hours.
