Job Summary

Primary Function of Position

Reporting to the Endoluminal PMO Manager you will be accountable for the leadership of projects related to the development and manufacturing of system hardware and/or software for the Endoluminal Business Unit.  You will be aligning engineering manufacturing and regulatory schedules ensuring that the right products are created and delivered at the time of market introduction to ensure the success of the platform. Your influence will be critical to ensure excellent cross-functional communication and coordination.

The position requires significant experience in medical technology products and the ability to combine that experience with knowledge of bringing projects through a development cycle manufacturing transfer and launch. This role requires an understanding of product development process manufacturing supplier management project management and most importantly managing through influence. 

Essential Job Duties

  • Effectively manage cross-functional development teams across the Business Unit and Shared Services providing oversight on critical projects and ensuring the teams deliver against their commitments within the project contract.

  • Manages the project plan by identifying critical path constraints contingencies and mitigations to achieve project threats to project plan as required to functional management and senior leadership

  • Ongoing collaboration with cross-functional teams to update weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on project status and ensure that cross-product dependencies are understood planned for and crisply executed

  • Perform risk analysis develop contingency plans and gather data from functions to proactively raise prioritization and scheduling tradeoff decisions

  • Provides regular updates in form of status updates and stage gate review presentations with highlighting risks and mitigation plans to senior management

  • Works across the organization and external suppliers to align functional support and input for the project

  • Ensures Project management processes are followed per relevant procedures by functional team members.

  • Contributes to Project management process optimization and strategies via lessons learned resource leveling process input and sharing and developing best practices

 


Qualifications :

Required Skills and Experience

  • Medical device or health care experience in regulated environment is required.

  • Understanding of Design Controls under US and International Regulations

  • Strong project management planning decision making negotiating and change management skills

  • Comfortable with all phases of the project and product lifecycle including idea generation concept design development V&V testing and manufacturing transfer

  • Experience in analyzing tradeoffs between product features customer needs/ requirements and cost

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data set actionable goals and drive metrics and execution

  • Experience with supplier development and management of post design transfer supplier changes

  • Experience with schedule budget cost and risk management tracking tools

  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment.

  • Proven ability to lead influence and work well at all levels of an organization and in a cross functional team environment

  • Seeks recognizes and executes creative and simple solutions to resolve complex project challenges; routinely steadies the team when stressed; leads by example

  • Strong relationship building customer focus and facilitation skills

  • Excellent communication (written verbal) presentation and documentation skills

Required Education and Training

  • Four-year degree (bachelors degree or global equivalent) in a scientific field preferred; business finance or related field will be considered in conjunction with experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MSc/MA/MBA is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge of program/project management software (e.g. MS Project Smartsheet JIRA collaboration tools) desired

  • Certification in project management (PMP CSM) desired

  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff and consultant resources desired

  • Minimum 8 years of experience involved in the development and commercialization of highly technical medical devices.

This position may be filled at a different job level than listed here depending on
business need and/or on the selected candidates experience knowledge and skills.
Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidates qualifications consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives benefits and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
