TITLE:

SYSTEMS ANALYST/DATA PROCESSOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field or

2. Five (5) years of successful experience in systems analysis.

3. Experience with SIS Systems

REPORTS TO:

Director of Assessment & Accountability of Student Learning

JOB GOAL:

To assist the Senior System Analyst in fulfilling the goals of data processing for the Rapides Parish School System. Systems analysis design development implementation and integration of in-house and vendor-supplied information systems to best meet the information needs of the district. Validate and verify LDOE reporting accuracy to maximize district funding through MFP formula and economically disadvantaged students across the district.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. To effectively and efficiently assist the Senior System Analyst with the day-to-day operation of data processing throughout the system.
  2. Maintain update and import Direct Certification Homeless Foster Migrant and PK student list of eligibility students.
  3. Ensure all the SIS files are uploaded each night to the Child Nutrition Department.
  4. Ensure all SIS files are uploaded to the state system nightly.
  5. Address all State requests that relate to students eligibility.
  6. Navigate the DirectMatch Monthly Update as directed by the State and USDA.
  7. Taking complex information and streamlining to increase efficiency and accuracy of all reports.
  8. To ensure proper project documentation and establish controls to assure the currency completeness and accuracy of all program changes and development.
  9. To select appropriate hardware and software tools to support the development implementation and maintenance of district information systems and applications.
  10. To focus on the needs of the district and maintain the highest quality standards for assigned systems including platform interface functionality and performance
  11. To integrate tools and applications into the Student Information System as appropriate
  12. To develop a professional growth plan that enhances professional and technical skills and establish and execute a self-evaluation plan
  13. To accept assignments in the form of goals and develop objectives to achieve those goals
  14. To regularly review and analyze current Student Information Systems for possible improvements and make recommendations for system revision or new implementation as necessary
  15. To coordinate with administrative and technical staff concerning system development and the implementation of new systems
  16. To ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data
  17. To provide for the technical assistance and training for all appropriate users on new existing and modified systems
  18. To prepare and submit in a timely manner all required reports data transmissions and forms as requested and required by the administration and the LDOE.
  19. To maintain an up-to-date inventory of all hardware software and computer stock and maintain adequate supplies for the efficient and effective operation of the Assessment Accountability and Analytics (AAA) department
  20. Work independently while also being proactive as a team player.

  23. To perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Assessment & Accountability of Student Learning the Assistant Superintendents and the Superintendent
