The Application Support Systems Analyst provides technical and business support to LBB staff and other state agency personnel. A candidate for this position is required to have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
The position reports to the Application Support Manager and works under limited supervision and exercises a moderate level of independent judgment and action.
- Essential Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate assistance in the production of the General Appropriation Bills (GABs) and other budget and performance documents by applying appropriate development and review standards.
- Support internal and external users in completing business tasks within LBB applications and systems.
- Support existing applications through routine monitoring maintenance and reporting.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new applications and processes through research testing and feedback.
- Contribute to the development of instruction manuals training materials and other user resources by applying appropriate development and review standards.
- Lead or contribute to the development and presentation of business applications training.
- Maintain user profile accounts and protect agency systems by understanding and applying security policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Essential Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience with SQL Server FTP Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office.
- Skilled in supporting and troubleshooting applications and information systems.
- Skilled in the development and writing of user documentation and instruction manuals.
- Attentive to detail and complete tasks with an appropriate level of independence.
- Provide excellent customer service when engaging with internal and external users.
- Communicate professionally and effectively either in person by email or by phone.
- Think critically and use good initiative and judgment.
- Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to deliver application training to a non-technical audience.
- Work at a computer and desk for extended periods of time.

Education and Experience- Graduation with a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required.
- Two or more years of progressively responsible full-time work experience in business application support.
