As a Systems Engineer youll design integrate and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving is essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions to intricate processes and writing system specifications. Youll be responsible for analyzing requirements defining system architectures conducting thorough testing and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems. Additionally youll identify and mitigate risks confirming that our systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.

Summary

Applied Materials is seeking a System / Process Engineer to lead wet equipment definition for 300mm wafer-level processing. This role bridges process requirements and tool specifications ensuring alignment between technology needs and equipment capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Define requirements for wet processing tools:
- Cleaning wet etch and surface preparation
Translate process needs into equipment specifications
Conduct vendor benchmarking and selection
Evaluate tool performance footprint throughput and facility constraints
Collaborate with process facilities and integration teams
Identify gaps between process requirements and available solutions

Qualifications

BS/MS in Mechanical Chemical or Systems Engineering
5 years of experience in semiconductor processing equipment
Strong knowledge of wet processing systems and chemical handling
Experience with tool selection and vendor engagement
New College Graduate Applicants will NOT be considered

Preferred

Experience in advanced packaging or wafer-level substrate processing
Familiarity with fab integration considerations (UPH automation factory layout)

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.

For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
