ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking to hire a Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Broomfield CO and Waltham MA. The Battlespace Awareness team develops tactical sense- and decision-making software that provides advanced capabilities for Andurils command and control (C2) products. This software must work with various combinations of compute hardware connected sensor/effector hardware and supporting software services.Proving that softwareis robust to variations inscenario configuration and mission setisa responsibilitythis team owns end-to-end.

Youllbe hands-on across that whole pipeline: running our software through simulated scenariosbuilding performance analysesred-teamingthrough scenario designand creating the toolingsothat engineers and customersunderstand the behavior. This is a build-measure-analyzerole. If you like writingsoftwarethat turns messy real-world datainto a clear answeryoullhave plenty to do.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Design run and analyze scenarios.Exercise our software across simulatedand real-world data sets then build the Python analysis that turns the output into performance results people can act on.

• Create and implement the metrics.Help define and then instrument the measures of system success.Track them as the system evolvesto inform engineering decisions and product roadmap.

• Support customer demonstrations.Build and configure simulation scenariostoshowcasesystem performance incustomer-facingdemos.

• Explain system behavior.Characterize the behavior of individualsystemcomponents andemergent behaviorsthat arise frominteractions of multiple systems.

• Build the tools.Develop new data analysis and observability tooling often from a blank page andhelp automate the system through CI/CD infrastructure.

• Work across the seams.Partner with algorithm and software engineers totroubleshootand optimize across the system.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5years ofsoftwareengineeringor software systems integration and testexperience. Degree in Engineering Physics Robotics Mathematics or a related field.

• Strong Python skills for data parsing analysis and visualization

• Ability to read and reason aboutCor Rust(writing it full-time is notrequired)

• Comfortable developing new data analysis and observability tools from the ground up

• Exposure tokinematicsmodelingandsimulation frameworks (AFSIM or comparable)

• Skilled in Statistical analysis techniquessuch as Monte Carlo techniques

• Demonstrated experience developing CI/CD pipelines metrics and test fixtures for software evaluation

• Demonstratedproficiencyin the application of engineering standards into engineering processes or requirements.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

• Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to developers system leads and customers.

• Comfortable working with ambiguity evolving priorities and challenging problems.

• Mustbe authorized towork in the United States.

• Up to 25% travel to customer sites.

• Eligible to obtain andmaintainan active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with Linux OS.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Past experiencewithDevOps

• Familiarity with processes and constraints for real-time and safety-critical software.

• Experience with state estimation sensormanagementandKalman filters.

• Prior experience writing and testing Rust / C software.

• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.

• Prior involvement in field exercises test events experimentation campaigns.

• Previousexperience in a defense aerospace or naval environment.

• Experience with any of the following: robotics autonomous systems radar optics computer vision wireless communication software defined radios networking missile defense

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
