Surgical Technologist II (PRN)

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.
Licensure:Non-certified applicants may be considered for this positionwithacceptablesurgical technologyexperience.
Experience:non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.

Certifications:American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Other:Must understand English both written and spoken must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal state or local law.

Communication Management
- Listens to physicians and communicates need to circulator in advance (anticipates).
- Anticipates needs of surgeon by paying attention and responding appropriately.
- Recognizes and reports emergency situations.
- Communicates with physician confirms correct specimen and disposition to circulator (under the direction of physician.
- Communicates delays or completion before scheduled time to circulator to ensure efficient room utilization or schedule changes.
- Communicates instrument and equipment problems to appropriate team member and identifies repair needs according to policy.

Technology
- Demonstrates competence in initiating and maintaining use of routine equipment and procedures.
- Performs technical skills relative to specific specialties i.e. assembling instrumentation and equipment (retractors power equipment etc.)
- Assists in evaluation of new products equipment policies procedures and standard
- Fills out appropriate paperwork to assist with decisions.

Stewardship Awareness
- Plans organizes and evaluates work activities appropriately.
- Works efficiently and quickly producing high quality work.
- Conserves resources and watches for a better way to complete work.

Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
