Job Summary
Surgical Tech I- Full Time *** $10000 Sign-On Bonus *** (Current MGB Surgical Techs NOT Eligible)Surgical Tech - Interventional Pulmonary
Monday-Friday
No Holidays No Weekends No Call
4 Room Procedural Suite
Assist with procedures in Pulmonary Special Procedures Unit and at the bedside with Interventional Pulmonary and Pulmonary Medicine Consult Service.
Maintain department equipment as well as supply inventory and procedure room stocking.
Under supervision assists in operations. May help set up the operating room prepare and transport patients for surgery adjust lights and equipment pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons assistants hold retractors cut sutures and help count sponges needles supplies and instruments.
Essential Functions
- Participates in time-out procedures.
- Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
- Sets up equipment independently.
- Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
- Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions including patient and surgical team needs.
- Prepare patients for surgery including positioning on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support BLS Certification -preferred
Certified Surgical Technologist CST - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) - preferred
Dental Assistant State License - preferred
Medical Technician New Hampshire License - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy - preferred
Work Experience
Experience as a Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required and One (1) year experience as Surgical Technologist in a similar setting 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of surgical procedures instrumentation and sterile techniques.
- Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology used in the operating room.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.
