Job Summary:

The Surgery Scheduling Manager will be responsible to manage and coordinate all clinical and surgical encounters including clinic appointments referrals authorizations and pre-surgical requirements. The Surgery Scheduling Manager will help ensure a smooth scheduling and a high level of patient care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all administrative and clinical support activities for patient eye surgeries (such as cataract glaucoma retina and LASIK).
• Optimize surgical block time manage provider schedules and maintain active waitlists.
• Coordinate pre-op testing medical clearances and necessary equipment like Intraocular Lenses (IOLs).
• Partner with the billing and revenue cycle teams to verify insurance secure prior authorizations and provide financial cost estimates to patients.
• Serve as the main contact for patients families and surgical facilities to ensure clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree preferred for management-level tracks.
• Experience: 2 years of surgical scheduling experience ideally within an ophthalmology or specialized clinical setting.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) software medical terminology and insurance verification workflows.
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication empathy to reduce patient anxiety and strong organizational skills.
