Job Summary:

LeadingTechnology client isseekinga highly versatile and self-directed Mechatronics Engineer to join our Engineering Services team. This role is central to the development and optimization of complex robotic and automated systems. You will be instrumental in driving projects from theinitialconcept phase through to final implementationleveraginga multidisciplinary approach encompassing mechanical electrical and software engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prototype Hardware Development.

  • Lead the development of robotic and electromechanical hardware from early conceptual ideation through detailed design prototyping and final hardware bringup.

  • This includes translating highlevel functional requirements into robust testable prototype hardware suitable for iterative development and validation.

  • MultiDisciplinary Engineering Assessment:

  • Applya broad range of engineering disciplinesincluding mechanical electrical electronics embedded systems and software engineeringto evaluate the current state of robotic systems.

  • Perform root cause analysis of technical issuesidentifysystem inefficiencies and propose design performance reliability or manufacturability improvements across hardware and software boundaries.

  • Project Evaluation and Technical Planning:

  • Independently assess new and ongoing robotics projects by evaluating technical complexity risks constraints timelines and dependencies.

  • Clearly understand project goals and use sound engineering judgment to define the most effective development approach milestones resources and execution plans.

  • Robotics System Integration & Validation:

  • Support the integration of mechanical hardware with electronics sensors actuators control systems and embedded software.

  • Participate in systemlevel testing debugging and validation to ensure robotic platforms meet performance safety and operational requirements.

  • EndtoEnd Product Development:Support in allaspects of robotics hardware development including:

  • Conceptual and detailed mechanical design

  • Engineering analysis and tradeoff studies

  • 3D CAD modeling and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA)

  • Creation of detailed engineering drawings and documentation

  • Bill of Materials (BOM) generation and cost estimation

  • Coordination with vendors and fabrication partners

  • Prototype assembly integration and system bringup

  • Functional performance and reliability testing of robotic subsystems and full systems

  • Clear reporting of test results design decisions and lessons learned.

Skill Requirements
  • Understanding of electromechanical systems including motors actuators sensors gear trains and structural components

  • Working knowledge of electrical and embedded systems including PCB interaction power distribution and basic firmware/software interfaces

  • Experience with prototype fabrication assembly integration testing and troubleshooting

  • Experience working with robotic platforms subsystems or automation equipment including mobile robots industrial robots or custom robotic systems

  • Experiencewith Robots in integrating sensors and communication for Teleoperation

  • Experience integrating commercial off the shelf Robots using their proprietaryAPIs or SDKs

  • Deepproficiencyin ROS / ROS 2 (Robot Operating System)

  • Programming Languageexpertise :Python & C

  • Experience with Linux environments Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines for deploying code to remote robot fleets

  • Deep understanding of commercial industrial protocolsEtherCAT CAN bus TCP/IP

  • Ability to assess robotic system performance and recommend design reliability efficiency or cost improvements

  • Exposure to controls PLCs or embedded control architectures is a strong advantage

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet development timelines in a fastpaced R&D or product environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting design reviews and crossfunctional collaboration

  • Ability to work closely with software engineers electrical engineers manufacturing teams and external vendors

  • Good to have knowledge inmechanical design and 3D CAD ( Creo Fusion 360 or similar)

  • Exposure toengineering drawings BOMs and technical documentation

  • Good tohave understanding ofrobot mechanics kinematics motion systems and system integration
