Job Summary
Supply Chain Engineer
Busek is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer this exciting opportunity is critical in the commercialization of new products from development to manufacturing and the management/transformation of the current supply base. This individual will execute materials plans work with management on new product ramp plans and will be an active participant as the key supply chain contact for new product development process work. This candidate will work closely with the Supplier Quality team to ensure the current supply based is actively improving on a roadmap to ensure best-in-class performance across our aerospace programs. This is a highly visible strategic position that will drive supplier selection negotiate supplier contracts ensure the supply base meets/exceeds performance metrics and drive cost reduction across our supply base to impact the organizations bottom line and improve our competitive advantage. The successful candidate will be a key liaison between Busek and its suppliers ensuring contract requirements quality goals technical milestones cost reduction targets and program goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies related to the procurement of materials components and equipment. Develop supply strategies based on evaluation of current supply base market supply demand data supplier cost models industry forecasts and Busek business strategy.
- Locate evaluate and recommend high-quality low-cost sources of supply (Domestic and/or off shore). Promote and lead supplier development. Drive the sourcing of new technology suppliers
- Act as the primary point of contact between Busek and suppliers.
- Develop material Process Plans for each new component/revision to ensure the material flow once it arrives at Busek.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers.
- Develop specifications statements of work (SOWs) terms and conditions and negotiate requirements and scope with suppliers.
- Partner with key strategic suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of components to Busek by driving collaboration thoroughly understanding the suppliers process flows and control mechanisms negotiating cost reduction plans and ensuring suppliers quality standards meet Busek requirements.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure an expedited roll-out of Buseks Dock-to-Stock program with our supply base.
- Identify assess and mitigate risks across the supply chain activities; communicate impacts to cost and schedule with program management.
- Support supplier evaluations and participate in make/buy decisions.
- Maintain compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS ITAR and other regulatory requirements.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field; technical background required.
- Experience supply chain engineering and a focus in aerospace defense or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating supply agreements and managing supplier performance.
- Experience with implementation of SRM/SQM P2P and ERP systems is preferred. Experience partnering with R&D Engineering and in Procurement Project Management QA Finance Regulatory IT Engineering Logistics External Manufacturing Legal and Business Development is a plus.
- Experience in understanding & implementing process controls within a manufacturing environment. Experience working with suppliers to identify and improve their process controls to ensure a quality product is delivered to Busek.
- Strong understanding of contract terms flow downs and compliance requirements.
- Strong business and financial acumen with strong experience working with legal and contract documents is required.
- Strong negotiations and influencing experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications drawings and statements of work.
- Excellent communication negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills work well in a team environment able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards
- Ability to travel up to 40%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting government contracts and working with FAR/DFARS requirements.
- Background in engineering or technical program management.
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized manufacturing company environment.
