Supervisor, Machining (Swing Shift)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead daily machining operations ensuring execution of production plans to meet safety quality delivery and cost objectives.
• Coordinate workflow across machining cells including equipment loading queue management and changeover efficiency.
• Ensure operational readiness including tooling fixturing material availability and equipment capability.
• Monitor and drive performance through KPIs (such as safety quality delivery productivity scrap and cost); communicate results and drive corrective action.
• Identify and resolve operational issues related to equipment tooling workflow and staffing; escalate systemic issues as needed.
• Lead coach and develop team members support performance management training onboarding and employee engagement of technical roles such as CNC Machinist CNC Programmers and Leads.
• Manage workforce administration including timekeeping attendance and scheduling to meet production demands.
• Partner cross-functionally and with HR to address employee relations staffing needs and operational challenges.
• Ensure adherence to standard work quality standards safety practices and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean principles support cost control waste reduction and process efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of machining operations in a manufacturing environment including CNC and manual machining processes.
• In-depth knowledge of production flow tooling fixturing and equipment utilization.
• Working knowledge of ERP MES and shop-floor systems.
• Working knowledge of quality standards inspection methods and production documentation.
• Working knowledge of safety practices and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced equipment-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving decision-making and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze performance data and drive corrective actions.
• Proficiency in standard computer and operational systems.

Education and Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations with machining or fabrication experience.
• 1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience working with CNC equipment and production processes.
• Bachelors degree in manufacturing operations engineering or related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education training and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multi-cell or complex machining operations.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Lean Six Sigma or related continuous improvement certification.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift carry push pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk stand sit bend reach and occasionally kneel climb steps and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals noise vibration and /or dust and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as but not limited to safety glasses hearing protection foot protection etc.

Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHAs respirator use requirements.
