OVERVIEW

USCRI seeks a Supervising Attorney to assist with its Preferred Communities (PC) legal program serving Office of Refugee Resettlement eligible immigrants. The Supervising Attorney will contribute to the activities supervision and overall management of the program and provide direct representation to immigrant clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing direct supervision and support to PC Staff Attorney and Legal Assistants in various locations of the United States.

Ensure monthly data reports are submitted timely.

Conduct intakes and provide legal consultations to determine legal needs.

Prepare and submit affirmative immigration applications for all forms of relief delineated by ORR including but not limited to: Adjustment of Status Asylum EADs and TPS.

Make appropriate referrals to other legal service providers and relevant community partners.

Conduct outreach lead trainings and participate in networking activities.

Other responsibilities as assigned by Associate Director of Humanitarian Legal Services.

REQUIREMENTS

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with a state bar association.

Minimum 5 years of supervision experience supervising Attorneys and/or staff.

Minimum 7 years of immigration law experience.

Excellent legal research writing and editing skills.

Strong organizational analytical and project management skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATOINS

Fluency in a second language.

Demonstrated support for USCRIs values by exhibiting respect for others maintaining confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
