Job Summary

We have an opening for a Superblock Maintenance Coordinator. The coordinator will provide advanced technical coordination and readiness integration for corrective preventive and predictive maintenance supporting Superblock facilities infrastructure and associated yards. The coordinator will integrate maintenance activities across Facility Management Operations Nuclear System Reliability Group I&O craft and supervision Work Planning and Control engineering quality Environment Safety and Health procurement project and programmatic organizations.

The Maintenance Coordinator will help move work from identified need through scope development planning support readiness verification prioritization scheduling execution support and closeout tracking. The coordinator will help ensure work is properly scoped prioritized executable safe compliant and aligned with mission needs. This includes coordinating manpower materials equipment and time while supporting security environmental health safety quality work control and facility-specific requirements.

The coordinator will serve as the principal maintenance integration and readiness interface for assigned Superblock facilities and systems. Responsibilities include coordinating work planning inputs job walks access arrangements work control documentation Facility Activity Schedule coordination change requests Lockout/Tagout planning procurement support subcontractor interfaces and maintenance status reporting.

When qualified and assigned as a Subcontract Technical Representative the coordinator may provide administrative and technical oversight of subcontractor performance within the scope of the assignment.

This position will report programmatically to Superblock and administratively to the Defense Technologies Engineering Division within the Engineering Directorate. It will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

In this role you will 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance work definition readiness coordination issue resolution and lifecycle tracking within assigned Superblock areas.
  • Coordinate with Facility Management Operations Facilities Points of Contact engineers system engineers NSRG craft personnel project and programmatic stakeholders to clarify maintenance needs support field walkdowns and develop sufficiently defined scopes of work.
  • Identify and mitigate missing scope information access limitations facility constraints system conditions material needs approvals and stakeholder dependencies that could delay planning or execution.
  • Help ensure work is aligned with Superblock Work Planning and Control requirements and applicable nuclear facility administrative controls including work control documents Facility Activity Schedule coordination change requests access arrangements quality reviews procedures operational approvals and configuration management interfaces.
  • Coordinate with Work Planners Responsible Individuals Alternate Responsible Individuals craft personnel engineers and Operations to move work packages and supporting inputs through the planning and approval process. Serve as Responsible Individual or Alternate Responsible Individual when assigned and qualified.
  • Facilitate prioritization and scheduling discussions communicate mission impacts and schedule risks and provide planning and coordination inputs for daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate room access escort needs facility entry requests off-hours support stakeholder notifications and operational work windows. Support preparation or coordination of complex Lockout/Tagout plans and provide maintenance oversight as assigned.
  • Coordinate materials equipment spare parts outside craft personnel vendors and subcontractors with engineering procurement quality and craft organizations. Serve as a Subcontract Technical Representative when assigned and qualified including technical and administrative oversight within the subcontract scope.
  • Track work through execution and closeout communicate status and weekly updates support field verification and quality checks identify follow-up actions and capture recurring issues and lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties and assigned.

Additional job responsibilities at the 369.2 Level 

  • Provide highly advanced technical and coordination direction for maintenance planning readiness scheduling execution support inspection and closeout across complex Superblock facilities systems or mission areas.
  • Exercise extensive technical and coordination authority to resolve highly complex readiness issues direct coordination of complex maintenance activities and develop solutions involving significant safety compliance schedule quality or mission considerations.
  • Provide highly advanced technical guidance training mentoring and knowledge transfer to Maintenance Coordinators and other personnel. When assigned and qualified as an STR provide administrative and technical oversight of subcontractor performance within the authorized scope.

Qualifications :

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. 
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience with significant related experience in construction and operations of facility systems or utility site infrastructure systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical or electrical design and installation standards and practices.
  • Significant experience in the operation troubleshooting and maintenance of facility mechanical or electrical equipment and systems.
  • Significant knowledge of maintenance and construction project coordination planning estimating inspection work control and facility-specific processes.
  • Ability to develop or coordinate technical documentation work instructions scopes of work work control inputs change requests or other documentation supporting maintenance or construction activities.
  • Significant experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams involving scientists engineers technicians craft personnel operations safety quality procurement and programmatic stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment identify risks and incomplete prerequisites communicate recommendations escalate issues and pause work progression when work is not ready to proceed safely or compliantly.
  • Flexibility organizational skills and advanced verbal and written communication skills including the ability to reprioritize work coordinate competing demands and quickly learn facility processes and procedures.

Additional qualifications at the 369.2 Level

  • Extensive technical and administrative experience coordinating maintenance construction planning estimating inspection work control and operations for complex facilities systems or site infrastructure including the ability to resolve highly complex issues independently.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of maintenance and construction project coordination standards procedures techniques facility processes and applicable security environmental health safety quality and regulatory requirements with extensive experience directing complex maintenance or construction activities.
  • Experience providing highly advanced technical guidance training mentoring and cross-functional leadership including subcontractor technical and administrative oversight when assigned and qualified as an STR.

Pay Range

$125310 - $185640 Annually
$125310 - $153444 Annually for 369.1 level
$151620 - $185640 Annually for 369.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance and business or organizational needs.
