Job Description

Job Summary: Supervise and monitor children before school recess lunchtime and after school for purposes of safety and play in appropriate activities.

Reports to: Director of Extended Day Programs
Position: Part-time (6 hours per day maximum)

• 11:15am-1:15pm; 2:15pm-5:30pm

Essential Duties:

1. Supervise children before school recess lunchtime and after school.
2. Be a role model for sharing sportsmanship and general behavior.
3. Teach children how to resolve conflict use words express their emotions and share.
4. Nurture young children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
5. Engage children in play activities.
6. Sign children in and out as needed.
7. Escort children to and from after-school programs as needed.
8. Supervise meals and snacks.
9. Support school values.
10. Assist with carpool duties as needed

Knowledge Skill and Experience:

1. Minimum education (or substitute experience) required: High School Diploma
2. College graduate or current student in education field preferred
3. Minimum experience required: 1-2 years working with children (ages 5-13)

Typical Working Conditions: Work outdoors (except for excessive heat or inclement weather days) constantly moving about among groups of children supervising play and initiating the same as needed.

Equipment Used: Sports balls board games Legos pencils art equipment coloring snacks.
