Substitute Bus Driver

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Maintenance Operations and Transportation operate a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location using a designated DUTIES:Drive a school bus along a designated route picking up and discharging students in accordance with time schedules. EMaintain order and discipline among passengers on the bus and while waiting at bus stops in accordance with District policies related to disciplining students. EConduct daily safety inspection of bus inspecting the interior exterior and engine of vehicle. EMaintain bus in clean and safe operating condition; wash sweep and clean vehicles; refuel service and prepare vehicle for operation. ETransport students faculty and parents on field trips or other events; meet scheduled departure and arrival times as assigned. EAssist handicapped students to board or leave bus safely; assist students in wheelchairs by pushing chairs onto ramp operating lift and securing wheelchairs inside van; determine appropriate action in potential or real medical emergency situations according to established guidelines. EPrepare and maintain records and reports related to vehicle operation and condition. EObserve legal and defensive driving practices; assure compliance with applicable traffic and student transportation laws codes and regulations. EAdminister first aid to passengers as needed. EPerform related duties as AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of:Safe and defensive driving operation of school traffic and student transportation laws codes and aid record-keeping skills using tact patience and to:Drive a school bus safely and safe discipline level among and apply District policies and procedures related to student legal and defensive driving and follow designated routes and time and interpret bus in clean and proper working safety inspections and perform routine preventive first aid to ill or injured routine and follow oral and written effectively with regular and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Valid Class B drivers license with passenger and air brake Medical CONDITIONS:Environment:School bus and outdoor and noise from vehicle demands:Hearing and speaking to exchange to monitor or standing for extended periods of at the waist kneeling or crouching to inspect and wash the ladders or overhead above the shoulders or pushing or pulling moderately heavy :Traffic a vehicle during adverse weather conditions.
