Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Support Technology (SST) position for the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU).

Pay rate for this position is 16.80 per hour.

Position Duties

  • Customer Service Troubleshooting and Equipment Maintenance

  • Responding to walk-in phone and email questions about the computer lab

  • Maintaining printers

  • Cleaning computer labs and common areas

  • Maintaining communication between Level 2 Student Support Technicians and full-time employees.

  • Making and monitoring tickets within our ticketing system (Service Now).

  • Opening and closing facilities

  • Limited facilities maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*


  • *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows 11

    • Familiarity with Active Directory DNS DHCP and networking basics

    Working Conditions/Schedule:
    - Schedules are fixed by term flexible with class schedules and are 10-24 hours per week.
    - Available to work Monday through Friday 7 AM 10 PM Saturday 8 AM 6 PM and Sunday 12 PM 8 PM.
    - Hours that are outside business hours may be expected depending on availability.
