This position will work with Entergys Distribution Project Delivery Engineers and Team Leaders to prepare the candidate for potential full time employment. During this time the candidate will learn how to design overhead/underground electrical distribution systems plan projects review design packages and interface with stakeholders while maintaining safe work practices at all times.
Intern Job Description:
Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:
- Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
- Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
- Preparing operational one-line drawings
- Validate estimating prices and equipment units ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
- Managing projects that are in construction
- Completion of as-built documentation
- Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
- Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
- Responding to equipment failures
- Support lab testing and operations
- Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in distribution-related areas such as planning economic analysis maintenance design project management and construction and operations

Education Requirements:
- Must be actively pursuing a bachelors masters or doctorate degree as indicated above and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
- Seeking Electrical Mechanical and/or Civil engineering majors.
- Junior Senior or Graduate candidates preferred but not required.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.8 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
