Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Sterile Processing Coordinator for an exciting Travel or Local job in Long Beach CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise sterile processing technicians and coordinate daily staffing assignments
- Oversee decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards OSHA regulations IFUs and internal SOPs
- Conduct and review quality assurance audits and maintain accurate documentation
- Train mentor and support SPD staff development and competencies
- Coordinate equipment maintenance troubleshooting and calibration with maintenance teams
- Collaborate with leadership regarding scheduling staffing and operational objectives
- Work closely with surgical services and other departments to ensure timely instrument availability
- Promote infection prevention safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Address customer service concerns and communicate feedback effectively
- Assist with supply inventory management and reorder processes
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and KPI monitoring
- Provide direct supervision of sterile processing staff during assigned shifts
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing experience required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Certification required (one of the following):
- CSPM (Certified Sterile Processing Management)
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
- CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)
- CSIS (Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist)
- Strong knowledge of sterilization standards infection control and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling/timekeeping systems.
- Preferred: Healthcare leadership certification (CHL) or CIS certification
