Job Summary
As a Staff Software Engineer at General Electric Company you will be a key contributor to the design development and deployment of complex software solutions across various GE business units. You will leverage your technical expertise to solve challenging problems mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in software engineering.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the design development and implementation of highly scalable reliable and secure software applications and systems.
Architect and build robust APIs microservices and data processing pipelines.
Collaborate with product managers UX designers and other engineers to define technical requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards performance and security best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and performance issues in production environments.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level software engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Drive the adoption of new technologies tools and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from concept and design to testing deployment and operational support.
Contribute to the strategic technical direction of the team and department.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience insoftware development with a strong emphasis on building enterprise-grade applications.
Strong experience with Vue or other UI frameworks.
Experience leveraging AI development tools such as Claude and/ or Copilot.
Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Qualifications:
Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java Python C Go or JavaScript ().
Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of software architecture patterns data structures and algorithms.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong analytical problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
