Role Overview

In Growth Marketing our goal is to increase the number of transacting Customers whilealso growing their purchase frequency and lifetime value. We build core platforms andservices that power Coupangs growth. Various platforms under our portfolio includeSearch Advertising Platform Affiliate Platform Display targeting & re-targeting PlatformCRM Audience Platform Push Marketing Platform and other core marketing servicesfor landing tracking & attribution. ML opportunities across these portfolios includetargeting personalization product & offer recommendations budget optimization real-time bidding creative optimization fraud detection and various will play acritical role in driving innovation in Machine Learning enablement of Growth / Marketingplatforms. You will design & develop end to end machine learning solutions to driveimpact across our portfolio of platforms. You will collaborate with various GrowthMarketing teams to build and deploy ML models & services that will directly help growcustomers increase wallet share and improve ROAS. What You Will Do

• Drive end-to-end Engineering and Machine learning methods that have a highdegree of ambiguity scale and complexity
• Build machine learning models perform proof-of-concept experiment optimize anddeploy your models into production.
• Establish scalable efficient automated processes for data analysis machine-learning model development model validation and serving.
• Present results and explain methods to the leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers on the team and partner teams and help to uplevel MLtalent across the company.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Math or a closely related field
• 8 years working experience in the engineering teams that build large-scale ML- driven user-facing products
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining highly available distributed systems
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working on backend and ML systems for large-scale user-facingproducts and have a good understanding of how they all work.
• Experience in closely collaborating with other engineering teams to ship new MLtechnologies.
• The ideal candidate will possess the self-motivation curiosity creativity and initiativeto achieve goals.
• Extensive knowledge in deep learning
• Experience with state of the art ML modeling techniques and approaches liketransformers self supervised pre-training generative modeling LLMs etc.
• Hands-on experience training and applying models at scale.
• Proficient coding skills in Java C or Python

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $15200/year to $261000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
